CORN HUSK PAPER

Corn is grown throughout the world, and its production quantity is increasing each year, more than any other grain. In 2020, total world production was 1.124 billion tonnes. 1 Tonne of corn husk is enough to make 100000 sheets of A4 paper! A huge amount of waste is thus, produced in the form of corn husk. We upcycle corn husk by mixing it with upcycled cotton rags to create Corn Husk paper that is adorable, textured, and simply stunning.

Corn husks are either discarded or burnt by small local farmers. Discarding the corn husk has an economic impact on the farmer, and burning results in unnecessary CO2 emissions, environmental pollution in the soil, and smog due to the smoke. We solve these issues by upcycling the corn husks, thereby providing additional income to the farmers and preventing environmental degradation.

🌲Upcycled Wood-Free Paper: Production of Corn Husk Paper requires not a single tree felled. When the corn crop is 80% of the plant, its stems and leaves (agricultural waste) are left unused.

🚫 Acid-Free Paper- no chemicals used; the paper is naturally pH neutral.

👍Totally chlorine-free (TCF): The production of this paper does not require the use of chlorine or chlorine derivatives.

🗑️Zero Water Wastage: All water used for producing this paper is recycled and brought back to production.
