COFFEE HUSK PAPER

Each year in the UK alone, around 381000 Tonnes of the Coffee waste get discarded. These coffee grounds end up in UK landfills each year, generating methane and carbon dioxide.

Thirteen grams of coffee waste can create an A4 paper. Thus, from the coffee waste from the UK alone, 29 billion A4 papers can be manufactured; That is, 145,000 Trees prevented from being felled!

Peels, leaves, and coffee grounds left behind during industrial processing are primary elements used to manufacture coffee paper. Since the coffee fibers are short, we add cotton rags or linen rags to coffee waste (30% approximately) to create strong, long-lasting paper. The paper gets its color from cotton or linen rags, and hence, it is possible to develop a paper of any color.

Firstly, the production process involves cleaning the coffee grounds, boiling them with water, and eventually adding cotton rag bits. The mixture then goes to the Hollander beater to be converted to Pulp. Then, Pulp passes through Roller and conveyor-based machinery to drain excess water. Finally, the paper is sundried and calendared to get smooth, beautiful textured paper.

🗑️Zero Wastage Production: The production of this paper generates zero waste.

🌲Tree-Free Paper: Production of this paper requires no trees cut. Coffee industrial waste and cotton or Linen rags disposed of by the textile industry are primary ingredients used to produce coffee paper.

👍Totally chlorine-free (TCF): The production of this paper does not require the use of chlorine or chlorine derivatives.

⚡Energy Saving- 70-80% energy savings over virgin pulp paper
